What our Better and Brighter Social Value Strategy means to us
Our ‘Better and Brighter’ social value strategy is about enacting real change through the course of our day-to-day work, aligned with our values of collaboration, innovation, community-led and caring. To ensure that social value is an integral part of everything we do—from product and service development, to procurement and customer enagement.
It is a privilege for us to know that we can and do have a positive impact in homes, schools, and communities across Europe.
We take pride in delivering custom social value strategies for our customers aligned with their local priorities, alongside operating our own company-wide social value strategy aligned to our values using the National TOMs Framework (Themes, Outcomes, Measures). Our long-term commitment is to continually listen to schools, parents, young people, communities, and partners, so that our efforts continue to be relevant, meaningful, and grounded in long-term positve impact and lasting change.
Our social value approach affects the entire company, and our local and UK-wide priorities are co-designed by a dedicated social value team uniting multiple departments and areas of expertise across the business.
Together we can all deliver ‘Better and Brighter’ impact, but we do not do this alone. We are proud to work in collaboration with our customers, communities, suppliers, partners, stakeholders, and the wider ecosystem that connects us all.
1. Forever Learning
Making time for learning has always been at the heart of everything we do, and as part of our Better and Brighter strategy, we continue to promote and facilitate a ‘Forever Learning’ culture. Fostering new skills through learning and practice, making apprenticeships and training available either directly or through our extensive partner and supplier network, and actively supporting local communities and supply chains with job creation, career journey advice, business and technical advice, and multiple training opportunities.
2. Thinking Locally
We take pride in supporting local communities, local businesses, and local SMEs. At ParentPay Group as part of our ethical procurement policy and supply chain management we have made a commitment to ensure our supply chain is also made up of local businesses and our partnerships are locally sourced.
3. Committed to Communities
The wellbeing of our immediate and extended communities has always been a core focus area for us. In addition to our wellbeing initiatives and working policies, all staff are also able to take one paid day off per year to volunteer in their local community for a cause that matters to them most—helping spread our commitments further into the communities that we work, live, or operate in.
4. Actively Innovative
It is easy to talk the talk, but importantly at ParentPay Group we believe in behaving in a way that is authentic, consistent, and action-oriented. As a leading technology company, supporting social innovation, digital inclusion, upskilling, and delivering lasting value directly, or through our partnerships, is critical to everything we do. We take pride in delivering digital skills and cyber security training throughout the year. Alongside these e-learning modules, DPO training, ask-the-expert sessions, and multiple pocket guides are available to everyone, not just our customers.
5. Purposeful Partners
At ParentPay Group we consider ourselves purposeful partners delivering tangible and lasting value. In particular, for our customers, we deliver unique and bespoke Better and Brighter social value strategies that align seamlessly with local priorities, always proactive in our approach to making a real difference.
For our chosen charities, we are also a significant contributor with a long legacy of support. Since 2021, we have raised over £5 million for Comic Relief, Children in Need, and NSPCC, and these long-term partnerships continue.
6. Forever Green
We are actively committed to contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the principles of the UN Global Compact. We have a plan in place, aligned with the UK Government commitments to reduce emissions, including an Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) Action Plan. Our energy consumption is also well under the benchmarks used, meeting the Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards.
Alongside this, we carefully manage our supply chain with responsible due diligence practices—recently introduced our own EV scheme and operate successful ‘cycle to work’ schemes.
As we continue to move into green partnerships, we are also proud recyclers of technology, participate in a number of tree planting initiatives through our partners, and were also recognised as a Top 10 Business, Top 5 Technology Company, and Top 3 Software Company for ESG overall in our investor portfolio in 2025.
